The Wasabi Animusical is a stage show for anime conventions that combines the elements of cosplay with Broadway and movie musicals. The show premiered at JACON 2005 and was an instant success among Florida’s anime fans. The show and its unique concept gained even more of a following on the Internet via YouTube where the videos of the each year’s show were posted.

To date, three complete Wasabi Animusicals have been produced:

Starting in 2008, the Animusical concept was brought back as a competition known as Animusical Idol.  This allowed anime fans to produce and perform their own “animusical-style” numbers for an audience and be judged by Wasabi Anime staff (a la American Idol).  The competition has appeared at both JACON (Orlando, FL) and Florida SuperCon (Miami, FL).
