Right after Wasabi Anime started in 2001, we hosted an anime themed Christmas party in Central Florida.  We raised a bunch of toys for Toys for Tots and set the stage for the kind of events we wanted to run for our fans.  The artwork in the post is from that party.

Here we are, ten years later, still just north of normal and still chugging along with projects like InvaderCON, Florida Anime Experience, PinUpalooza and appearances at conventions all across the United States.

From our family to yours: Merry Christmas.  We’re glad we’re still here after all these years to celebrate it with you and hope to do so for years to come.

InvaderCON II: DOOMCON continues to grow every day.  Tickets are selling fast and we are even discussing adding more guests.  Coming this Monday (aka “Cyber Monday”) we will sell tickets for two of our most popular events at the convention…

• The I’m Makin’ Waffles Breakfast will be $50 per person.
• The Dinner of DOOM will be $75 per person.

Tickets for these two events will go on sale at 10:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday November 28th on www.invadercon.com.

MOON CRYSTAL POWER MAKE UP! FLORIDA ANIME EXPERIENCE ANNOUNCES TERRI HAWKES, THE VOICE OF SAILOR MOON, AS THE GUEST OF HONOR FOR 2012!

Terri Hawkes (the voice of Sailor Moon for the English language dub of the series and all three movies) will be making her first ever fan convention appearance in the United States.

(Orlando, FL, October 5, 2011) Florida Anime Experience 2012 will take place at the International Palms Resort and Convention Center (in Orlando, Florida) May 25-27, 2012. The convention, now in its second year, will feature panels, events and shows themed around anime, manga and Japanese popular culture. The Guest of Honor for 2012 will be Terri Hawkes, known for providing the voice of what is regarded as the most recognizable female anime character of all time: Sailor Moon.

The series Sailor Moon first aired in the United States in 1995 and is widely considered as one of the foremost titles that helped propel anime fandom into American culture. Terri Hawkes provided the voice for the majority of the series and subsequently returned to voice the iconic character in three films: Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, and Sailor Moon SuperS.

Tickets go on sale Sunday, October 9, 2011 on the website: www.floridaanime.com. Weekend admission to the event is $35, but discount passes can be purchased in advance. One day passes will be available at the door for $25 (Saturday) and $20 (Friday or Sunday.)
